AML Operations Lead

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our AML Operations Detection team.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency of AML/CTF operational obligations, including screening, triaging, and assessing alerts for sanctions risk, PEPs, adverse media, and third-party risk.

  • Oversee the treatment of Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to drive business outcomes and minimize risks.

  • Monitor service levels, manage queues, and escalate issues effectively.

  • Contribute to workforce planning, quality control, and insights preparation for risk committees.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging AML/CTF trends and contribute to strategic responses.

  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience in AML or investigations, with expertise in sanctions, PEPs, and regulatory reporting.

  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF legislation and AUSTRAC requirements.

  • Industry accreditations like ACAMS or ICA are highly valued.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and empower a team.
