Job Description

The Aboriginal Health Worker will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support Aboriginal patients in the Emergency Department. This will involve developing and maintaining relationships with patients, families, and community members to provide culturally sensitive care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care to Aboriginal patients and their families, taking into account their cultural needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of Aboriginal patients.
  • Engage with community members and health professionals to promote culturally safe practices and improve health outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate 3 in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or an equivalent qualification in a relevant health-related field.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, with experience working with Aboriginal communities.
  • A passion for delivering culturally appropriate care and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
