Compliance Specialist

This role is ideal for professionals looking to expand their skillset in a regulated compliance environment. You will have the opportunity to develop and support an enterprise-wide compliance calendar, acting as a key communicator between different teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support various teams with their compliance inquiries
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and international standards
  • Update compliance management plans, including regulatory changes, policies, training, and monitoring
  • Work closely with the Compliance Assurance Officer to monitor control assurance testing
  • Compile reports and updates for stakeholders
  • Conduct assessments and review risk obligations
  • Assess risks where new processes are introduced or existing ones change
  • Review existing risk assessments periodically
  • Provide ongoing assistance in delivering compliance and risk frameworks
  • Manage incident and remediation processes
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and business units to understand drivers, concerns, and expansion plans, and offer risk management support
  • Maintain multiple policies and registers
  • Review key policies and procedures when necessary, and assist staff in drafting new ones
  • Prepare and lodge regulatory filings
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and participate in meetings as required
  • Support team members with complex issues and share best practices
Requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience in financial services and compliance
  • Experience interacting directly with regulators is highly valued
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Law, Commerce, or Accounting
  • Understanding of financial services regulations in prominent markets, including knowledge of current and proposed legislative requirements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
