About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver holistic health promotion, community education, and culturally safe cancer care pathways in a rural setting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and embed cancer screening resources across community programs to enhance patient outcomes and reduce health disparities.
  • Support clients and families in navigating cancer services and palliative care pathways, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their journey.
  • Collaborate with local hospitals, Aboriginal Medical Services, and clinic staff to strengthen referral processes and build trust within the community.
  • Develop and deliver health promotion activities, yarning circles, and community education sessions to empower individuals and communities to take control of their health.
  • Assist in developing quality improvement processes and culturally appropriate learning materials to ensure that care pathways are tailored to meet the needs of diverse populations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in community health, chronic disease, oncology, or related programs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team, with a focus on building strong relationships with stakeholders and clients.
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
