Indigenous Health Educator Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Indigenous Health Educator to join our team.

  • Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Indigenous Health (Nursing) (Identified) to lead and contribute to teaching, learning, research, and curriculum development in Indigenous health within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

  • This role will actively support the UTS Indigenous Education and Research Strategy by integrating Indigenous perspectives into nursing education, fostering collaboration within the Faculty of Health, and engaging with industry and community stakeholders to promote the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Indigenous peoples internationally.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • A PhD or Masters in nursing or a related discipline
    • A current APHRA registration as a registered nurse or nurse/midwife
    • Relevant, recent clinical and/or research and/or academic experience in a nursing
    • Demonstrated level of capacity and skills in developing and delivering teaching and learning strategies about Indigenous health
    • Knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning approaches and adult learning theories in higher education
    • Experience teaching at a tertiary level, including face-to-face, blended and/or fully online teaching
    • Strong professional links with relevant industry and community partners
    • Ability to lead research activities and a strong publication track record

The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge in Indigenous health education and bring experience in delivering high-quality teaching in various modalities. They will also be expected to contribute to the strategic goals of the School, Faculty, and UTS through innovative teaching and learning strategies, impactful research, and meaningful engagement and partnerships.
