About the Role

The Learning Enhancement Specialist - Literacy will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching programs focused on English in the Junior School. This role will work closely with the Head of Junior School and Deputy Head of Junior School as part of the Junior School Learning Enhancement team. The Specialist will also collaborate with the Head of Learning Enhancement and the Director of Student Wellbeing to ensure a holistic approach to the curriculum and the strategic objectives of the school are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver effective teaching programs to meet the diverse needs of students, including those requiring additional support, enrichment, and/or extension.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum initiatives that promote academic excellence and student wellbeing.
  • Provide wellbeing support to students and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in English education.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the needs of all students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
