Job Title: Head of Department - Regional Learning Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced education professional to lead our Regional Learning Specialist team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating teaching and learning outcomes, providing educational leadership, and managing the Regional Learning Specialist program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Teaching and Learning Outcomes: The Head of Department will facilitate teaching and learning outcomes through effective performance management, modelling and promoting a culture of improvement, and contributing to the development of the Directorate's plan.
  • Provide Educational Leadership: The successful applicant will provide educational leadership by managing, developing, promoting, and reporting on the Regional Learning Specialist program, and providing leadership to specialist subject teachers.
  • Manage the Regional Learning Specialist Program: The Head of Department will be responsible for managing the Regional Learning Specialist program, including providing professional guidance, expert advice, and additional resources to teachers in regional and rural schools.
  • Travel Requirements: This position will require some travel within the state for the delivery of face-to-face tuition.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Teaching Qualification: The successful applicant must hold a recognised teaching qualification and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
  • Working with Children Check: The applicant must obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Leadership Experience: The successful candidate will have experience in leading teams and providing educational leadership.
  • Interpersonal and Public Relations Skills: The applicant must have high-level interpersonal and public relations skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
