About the Role

Australian Sovereign College PTY LTD invites applications for the position of Financial Management Specialist to manage the company's accounting function, including financial reporting, taxation, auditing, budgeting, cost management, planning, and advising on statutory compliance and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements and reports for presentation to management.
  • Analyse, investigate, and report on variances between actual and budget/forecast performance of the business.
  • Formulate and implement budgetary and accounting policies, standardising and documenting financial workflows and processes.
  • Manage cash flow, examining operating costs, income, and expenditure for an up-to-date view of company finances in real time.
  • Maintain internal controls through improved record-keeping practices for accurate financial reporting and provide assurance to management on the accuracy of information in financial reports and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Conduct audits, analyse data, and advise management on financial and taxation-related matters on business operations and new projects.
  • Employ strict financial practices by implementing and maintaining tight financial controls.
  • Prepare month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for management and statutory bodies.
  • Manage the company's tax compliance, including Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  • Maintain the company's computer-based accounting system and organise upgrades where necessary.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis where required.
