About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Operations Specialist to join our Accounting Operations Team in Hobart. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in gathering and monitoring financial data to provide accurate, timely, and valuable information for effective decision-making and problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities



  • Ownership of monthly general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Entity consolidation and monthly reporting, providing insightful analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Preparing and posting journals, maintaining the integrity of our financial records.
  • Maintaining the lease register, ensuring up-to-date records of company assets.
  • Preparation of BAS returns, meeting regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Managing the Corporate Credit Card system, optimizing company spending and reducing unnecessary costs.
  • Compilation of required financial reports, providing stakeholders with timely and accurate information.
  • Support with the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
  • Maintaining our expenditure approval policy, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the company's motor vehicle fleet, optimizing vehicle usage and minimizing costs.
  • Annual Fringe Benefit tax return, meeting regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Ad hoc projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

About You


We are looking for an exceptional Senior Financial Operations Specialist with:



  • A CA/CPA qualification and a minimum of 3 years' experience in financial operations or a related field.
  • Highly effective skills with Microsoft 365 programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Powerpoint, and PowerBI).
  • Strong collaborator with adaptable, clear, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a passion for accuracy, resulting in high-quality work outcomes.
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
