Family Support Advocate Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Family Support Advocate to join our team.


This role involves building and nurturing relationships with children and families who access our services, providing emotional support and guidance to help them navigate various challenges. We are looking for a highly organized and compassionate individual who can work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with children and families accessing our services.
  • Support families in completing forms and attending appointments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Navigate external services such as Centrelink, NDIS, and Dept. of Communities on behalf of families, facilitating access to essential resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, adhering to data protection protocols.

Requirements
  • A person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, committed to supporting Indigenous communities.
  • Completed post-school qualification in a relevant field (Health, Social Work or equivalent), demonstrating expertise in family support and advocacy.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and client management systems, ensuring efficient record-keeping and data analysis.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo minimum identity proofing requirements, including successful Criminal Record Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check, and current C or C-A Class driver's licence.
