
Enhancing Participation and Capacity in Children

The Capable Kids Next Level Program is a collaborative approach that focuses on developing participation and capacity in children aged 8 years and older.
Our objective is to provide opportunities for inclusion and increase independence in the home and community. To achieve this, we work with children, parents, and therapists to set and monitor meaningful goals in areas such as:
- Activities of Daily Living
- Functional Communication
- Social-pragmatics
- Executive Functioning
- Community Access
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will collaborate with our team to develop and deliver therapy programs for these children.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver therapy within the home and community environments.
Undertake risk assessments while working with clients in the community.
Write progress notes, management plans, and reports.
Develop and make resources to support your clients.
Participate in weekly supervision and whole team meetings.
Mobile visits with potential for in-clinic time.
Contribute to team lunches, dress-up days, and fun activities.
Develop and run school holiday group programs.
Learn through our internal Professional Development program.
Shadow and train from our therapy and admin teams.
Become an integral part of our Next Level Program.
RequirementsWe are seeking motivated and passionate students in their 1st or 2nd year of an Occupational Therapy (OT) or Speech Pathology (SP) degree.
You will need to have:
- A current driver's license and ability to use your own car for mobile visits.
- A current Working with Children's Check and Police Check.
- An NDIS Worker Screener Check.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Confidence in your paediatric knowledge, experience, and skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
- Insight and flexibility in your learning and growth as a clinician.
