Commercial Manager Pre-Contracts Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a Commercial Manager Pre-Contracts to play a key role in front-end commercial and contract management reviews and assessments for new major renewal opportunities. This position will ensure the commercial integrity of the line of business is maintained and enhanced through effectively managing pre-contract commercial activities.

The successful candidate will take a proactive and collaborative approach to identifying specific risks and opportunities, contributing to the successful growth of our business. This is a full-time permanent opportunity with flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or associated relevant experience.
  • Commercial experience in a relevant industry.
  • Experience with operate and maintain, facilities management service, design and construct, and infrastructure tender responses.
  • Solid knowledge of risk management and the ability to assess key assumptions on rates and unit rates.
  • Understanding of pre-contract commercial activities.
  • Broad understanding of internal commercial process compliance requirements.
  • Pro-active approach, self-motivated individual with a desire to be successful in work-winning activities.
  • Experience with contracts and comfortable dealing with understanding and analysis of relevant financial drivers.
  • Ability to work with internal stakeholders and bid team members as well as external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify contract-specific risks and opportunities, including legal, environmental, operational, safety, and other relevant aspects.
  • Lead risk and opportunity review process for complex contracts, identify associated costs, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Design innovative commercial models that optimize profit while providing value add/continuous improvement to clients.
  • Lead tender negotiations and assist in contract awards.
  • Oversee cost model build to ensure optimal position is reached for tender success.
