About This Job

We are seeking a seasoned Structural Design Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in planning, developing, and coordinating civil/structural design work on various projects.

You will be working in a 3D modelling environment, producing drawings, facilitating discussions, communicating complex technical issues, and preparing civil/structural design estimates and work plans.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and review design work within a small group of designers and engineers.
  • Create 3D models, drawings, and documentation according to established design and scope.
  • Interface with engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters as needed.
  • Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of civil/structural design estimates and work plans according to project scope, schedule, and requirements.
  • Mentor junior designers and drafters for their professional development.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
  • Design experience with a wide range of industrial structures, including buildings, material handling structures, equipment supporting structures, building and equipment foundations, retaining walls, etc.
  • Design and modeling of concrete and structural steel in a 3D environment.
  • Assistance in preparing discipline material take-offs.
  • Work in 2D environments while preparing drawings.
  • Leadership of small structural design teams.
  • Interaction with broader project teams and interfaces with other disciplines.
