Job Description

Support individuals with vision impairment as an experienced Orientation & Mobility specialist in Dubbo.

We champion the rights of people with low vision or blindness, tailoring solutions to build independent and fulfilling lives.

  • Respond to requests for information and support from people enquiring about services.
  • Establish effective communication and professional relationships with clients, families, colleagues and supervisors.
  • Conduct comprehensive O&M assessments, synthesise findings in reports and communicate results with clients and teams.
  • Train clients in orientation and mobility techniques across various environments.
  • Monitor and evaluate a client's O&M skills to identify potentially dangerous situations and intervene appropriately.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Orientation & Mobility and current completion of COMS.
  • Ability to travel regularly by car and domestic flight for overnight stays.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with clients and others.
