Key Leadership Role in Water Infrastructure

This pivotal leadership position blends technical excellence, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement to support the city's growth and long-term sustainability.

You'll serve as a key interface between Council's Development Assessment Branch, and the broader development industry, including developers, engineering consultants, and State Government agencies. Your leadership and technical expertise will help shape Logan's urban future and ensure resilient, sustainable water infrastructure for generations to come.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert engineering advice on complex water and sewerage development matters, including pre-lodgement consultations, design reviews, and construction standards
  • Lead assessments of technically complex development applications, identifying risks and opportunities for Council infrastructure and stakeholders
  • Review developer-submitted water and sewerage designs to ensure compliance with Council standards
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and compliance frameworks for development engineering assessments
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and briefs for senior stakeholders, including Council executives and elected officials
  • Negotiate and manage infrastructure agreements for large-scale developments
  • Contribute to the development of policies and standards for water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Stay current with industry standards, legislation, and capital works programs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business efficiency and customer service
  • Promote a strong safety culture and apply safety-first decision-making
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve risks and issues
  • Capture and use performance data to support team reporting and improvement

Requirements:

  • Expert engineering knowledge of water and sewerage systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in development assessment and compliance
  • Proficiency in quality assurance and compliance frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay current with industry standards, legislation, and capital works programs

Benefits:

  • Salary up to $130,111.33 per annum plus superannuation + temporary market adjustment increase of 10%
