Job Overview

This pivotal leadership role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement to support the city's growth and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert engineering advice on complex water and sewerage development matters.
  • Lead assessments of technically complex development applications, identifying risks and opportunities for Council infrastructure and stakeholders.
  • Review developer-submitted water and sewerage designs to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks for development engineering assessments.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and briefs for senior stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and manage infrastructure agreements for large-scale developments.
  • Contribute to the policy and standard development for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Stay current with industry standards and legislation.
  • Drive business efficiency and customer service improvements through continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering acceptable for Engineers Australia Membership at the grade of Member; be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Have experience in assessing and preparing residential and commercial development applications for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Have experience in quality assurance assessments with a passion for coaching and providing technical support in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Have extensive knowledge of SEQcode standards and products.
  • Have highly developed GIS skills.
