High Temperature Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Technical Officer to join our team and provide high-level technical support across multiple research laboratories. You will work closely with other technical staff, academics, and researchers on a daily basis, engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have proven experience operating instrumentation and techniques for high-temperature material characterisation in a research laboratory environment. They will also have demonstrated experience in maintaining, safely handling, storing, and disposing of laboratory chemicals, as well as operating high-temperature furnaces such as vertical and horizontal tube resistance furnaces, muffle and oven furnaces, and induction furnaces.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-level technical support to researchers and students.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Ensure safe laboratory practices and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree in a relevant field and subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Part-time (0.6) position at our Hawthorn campus.
- HEW Level 6 salary + 17% super and staff benefits.
