**About the Position**
Our allergen team is anticipated to be growing and set to move into a large purpose-built department in the near future. As such, the ALS Food & Pharmaceutical (Scoresby site) are looking for an enthusiastic Full Time Laboratory Technician with a focus on teamwork to join our Food Chemistry team, based in the Allergen testing department. The role is a category two $28.6phr + super, Mon-Fri, 7.6hr days, and flexible start times, starting between 7am and 9am. The position will be on a full-time basis reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor (Food Chemistry). A background in Allergen testing/management would be highly desired by not essential.

The duties of this position include but are not limited to:

- Preparing samples for instrumental analysis.
- Operate analytical instrumentation - load, run and process data.
- Prepare solutions, standards and quality control material in line with NATA and ISO 17025 regulations.
- Managing individual workload to meet laboratory turnaround times.
- Undertake allergen analysis based on ELISA methodology.
- Controlling stock levels and maintaining Kanban systems

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Good communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to adapt and manage workflow to ensure client expectations are met.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Previous technical experience in a food laboratory highly desired but not essential
- Have initiative and a proactive attitude.
- Be passionate, resourceful and innovative.
- Understanding of protein interaction, and non-specific binding in ELISA kits high desired, but not essential
