About the company:

The company is a well-established food manufacturer located in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. Due to growth, this company is seeking a Laboratory Technicianto join the team on an ongoing 6-month casual basis with the potential to extend or go permanent.

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain some industry experience and assist with both product development and laboratory-based duties. 

About the role:

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, your main responsibilities may include:

  • Completing testing of oil products
  • Basic QC laboratory testing of products (titrations, pH, Viscosity, chemical handling)
  • Weighing out raw materials for production
  • Data entry and result compilation
  • Laboratory housekeeping
  • Monday to Friday starting between 5:00am-9:00am with 9-hour days

About you:

  • Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistryor closely related discipline
  • Comfortable working independently and with high temperature frying vessels
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Methodical, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
