Investment Governance Manager

This role oversees the governance process for internal investment strategies, ensuring alignment with established frameworks and policies.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders to execute, monitor, and review mandates effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support investors in managing internal investment strategy implementation, including obtaining necessary approvals and creating investment strategy statements and mandates.
  • Manage the process for creating, reviewing, and maintaining internal investment mandates and strategy statements in accordance with policy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders on mandate governance, working with fund operations, compliance, legal, and risk teams to meet regulatory standards.
  • Ensure internal investment strategies comply with legislation and governance frameworks.
  • Prepare reporting for strategy owners, the CIO, and the Investment Committee.
  • Implement technology solutions to support internal investment strategies.
  • Provide training on the Investment Strategy Framework and mandate lifecycle processes.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in investment governance, portfolio management, or related fields, with a focus on investment mandates and internally managed funds.
  • Experience in regulated environments with a solid understanding of investment governance frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of investment products, asset classes, portfolio construction, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong grasp of investment principles and operating practices.
  • Commercially astute critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across teams.
  • Clear communication skills, able to explain complex governance concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, meeting deadlines effectively.
