About the Role:

At Gateways Support Services, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our respite team in Warrnambool. As a Casual Respite Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support for children with disabilities in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, accessing the local community, and learning independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for children with disabilities in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, and accessing the local community.
  • Implement all support plans and create an environment that empowers children and young people with disabilities.
  • Plan meals/menus in accordance with food safety guidelines to meet nutritional, cultural, and religious needs.
  • Participate and cooperate with the Respite Coordinator in consultative processes to improve health and safety.

Requirements:

  • A strong dedication to helping individuals lead fulfilling lives.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • A keen desire to be a part of and enhance a positive workplace atmosphere.
  • A current Australian Driver's License.
  • A current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • NDIS screening clearance or willingness to obtain.
  • A Working With Children Check (Employee).
  • A qualification in Disability, Community Services, Social Work, or equivalent (desirable).
