Job Opportunity: Heavy Vehicle Compliance ExpertThe Sydney Metro West project is a major infrastructure development with John Holland leading the design and construction work for the Eastern Tunnelling Package. This package includes the construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, as well as the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations.As part of this project, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Compliance Officer to support our team in implementing and monitoring processes and procedures related to heavy vehicle compliance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and monitoring processes and procedures related to heavy vehicle compliance
  • Scheduling and conducting random and targeted vehicle and driver audits
  • Reviewing daily driver logbooks
  • Inspecting heavy vehicles for compliance with relevant regulations
  • Facilitating face-to-face driver inductions
  • Issuing non-conformances and following up on required actions
  • Facilitating and leading investigations
  • Keeping up-to-date registers
  • Preparing reports
Requirements:
  • Industry experience in a similar position
  • A strong understanding of heavy vehicle compliance requirements, vehicle standards, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
  • Knowledge of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and NHVR permit and accreditation process
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment highly regarded
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills - Excel, Office
