
Heavy Vehicle Compliance Officer

John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella have commence design and construction work for the Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package.
With a contract worth $1.63 billion, the Eastern Tunnelling Package includes construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, and the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations. Starting at The Bays, tunnel boring machines will cross the harbour near the Anzac Bridge, before heading to the new Pyrmont station and then under Darling Harbour before reaching Hunter Street in the heart of the CBD.
This is the final piece in the puzzle to deliver the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project.
**The role**:
Reporting to the Logistic superintendent this role will actively drive Heavy Vehicle Compliance in line with our obligations under Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and the projects Chain of Responsibility Management Plan (CORMP)
As the heavy vehicle compliance officer, you will be accountable for;
- Implementing and monitoring process and procedures outlined in the CORMP
- Scheduling and conducting random and targeted vehicle and driver audits
- Reviewing daily driver logbooks
- Inspecting Heavy vehicles for HVNL and Project compliance
- Facilitating face to face driver inductions
- Issue non-conformances and follow up with required actions
- Facilitate and lead investigations
- Keep up to date registers
- Prepare reports
**Skills and experience**:
- Industry experience in a similar position
- Solid understating of Heavy Vehicle compliance requirements, vehicle standards and CoR
- Knowledge of HVNL and NHVR permit and accreditation process
- Certificate 4 in training and accessing will be highly regarded
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills - excel, office
