Desktop Support Technician Position

Role Overview: We are seeking a part-time Desktop Troubleshooting Technician to provide IT support services to home and business users. (Students with computer background welcome to apply)

Work Arrangement: This is a flexible, part-time role that can be converted to full-time later. Work from home or client site with on-demand support.

Pay Rate: $30-$40 per hour, plus travel reimbursements and commissions on up-sell.

Locations Available: Wollongong – involves traveling to customers within a 30km radius.

We provide top-notch IT Services to Home and Business Clients across Australia.

In our IT division, we offer online and on-site support for various issues, including emails, internet setup, printers, Windows and Mac troubleshooting, data recovery, software and hardware troubleshooting, etc.

About The Role
  • Provide expert IT support (Onsite) to Home and Business Users for issues such as email setup, internet connectivity, printer issues, Windows and Mac troubleshooting, data recovery, software and hardware troubleshooting, etc.
  • This role requires traveling around different suburbs within a 30km radius.
Essential Requirements For This Role
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Desktop Troubleshooting, either in Australia or overseas.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diagnosing problems and issues such as installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade, and configuration of desktops, software, hardware, printers, internet, email, and operating systems.
  • Customer-facing experience is an added advantage.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must have own vehicle and valid Australian Driving License for customer visits.
  • Self-motivated with a go-getter attitude and quick thinking.
  • Motivated to earn commissions on up-selling support packages to existing customers.
  • You must be based in Wollongong and have work rights.
Important Details To Consider
  • This is a part-time role initially, which may convert to full-time later.
  • No minimum guaranteed hours per week; average 20-25 hours/week depending on location.
  • On-demand support role.
  • Be prepared to work and travel within a 30km radius from your base location.
  • You can choose to work weekends for additional income.
  • Students from Computer and IT backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Travel is involved; you must have your own vehicle.
