Melbourne, Victoria, Australia beBeeNavigation Full time $80,000 - $120,000
Unlock the Power of Quantum Navigation

Join a pioneering research team to develop a revolutionary navigation system that combines cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence. As a PhD scholar, you will play a crucial role in designing and building a portable platform that replicates the physics of a quantum shaken lattice interferometer.

This project has the potential to transform navigation and sensing capabilities, making it possible to achieve accuracy once thought impossible. You will work closely with experts in the field to develop algorithms that merge classical and quantum data streams for reliable navigation in challenging conditions.

The impact of this project will be far-reaching, enabling the development of a reconfigurable platform for prototyping, a real-time quantum emulator for rapid design and AI training, and insights into quantum-classical fusion. This work will lay the foundation for future miniaturized quantum sensors and feed directly into international defence programs.

About the Role
  • You will need a strong background in physics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or applied mathematics.
  • Experience or interest in quantum technologies, sensor fusion, numerical simulation, or embedded systems is highly desirable.
  • Interest in defense applications of navigation and sensing technologies is essential.
What We Offer
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options and generous parental leave to support a balanced lifestyle.
  • Exclusive staff discounts, including discounted health insurance and other partner offers.
  • Salary packaging options, including car leasing and extra super contributions.
To Apply

Submit your CV and cover letter addressing the key selection criteria and your suitability for this position. Please note that appointment to this role is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.
