About this roleAs a key player in our international investment attraction team, you will develop and implement strategies to secure new investments for Victoria. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Engaging with international companies seeking to invest in Victoria/Australia, providing support to businesses to promote opportunities in the state and coordinating the attraction and facilitation of investments into Victoria.
  • Working with international Victorian Government Trade and Investment offices to research and identify international investment targets, and assisting the implementation of international investment attraction strategies to secure investment and jobs into Victoria.
  • Preparing briefings, reports, and correspondence for executives and Ministers related to investment opportunities from international markets.
  • Providing efficient and timely support on the negotiation of financial incentives to attract investment to Victoria and the subsequent administration of these agreements.
About youYou will have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge in one or more industry sectors, and a good understanding of the global and business environment, investment trends, and key markets for Victoria. You will also possess:
  • Experience working with prospective investors seeking to enter a new market would be highly regarded.
  • The ability to communicate a comprehensive understanding of global business trends and key business opportunities to persuade international businesses to invest in a new market.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including experience in undertaking research and analysis on business opportunities, along with preparing comprehensive briefs or Cabinet submissions.
