About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Wahlburgers Assistant Kitchen Manager. As a key member of our kitchen operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager with daily kitchen operations, participating in the hiring and training of new staff members, and coaching existing staff to achieve whole-team success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager with all facets of daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution of menu items and maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and development of new staff members, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Coach and counsel existing staff to achieve whole-team success, providing guidance and support to ensure individual and team goals are met.
  • Work with the kitchen team to exceed cost centre budgets and targets through proper planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Maintain high standards for consistency in recipe and menu item execution, ensuring that every guest has an exceptional dining experience.
  • Closely involve in inventory management and oversee ordering of food and supplies, ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked and prepared for peak periods.
  • Help maintain professional restaurant and team member image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Uphold restaurant safety, sanitation, and security standards at all times, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff.
  • Ensure building, equipment, furniture, and fixtures are in good repair, clean, and maintained on a regular basis.
  • Ensure a safe and harassment-free environment for all Team Members and Managers.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' kitchen work experience in high-volume environments; management or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire cooperation and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage inventory and allocate responsibilities and resources, with a systematic approach to work and the ability to prioritise efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Compliant and up to date on all necessary certifications, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
