Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Wahlburgers. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager in daily operations, participating in the hiring and training of new staff, and maintaining our high standards for culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and development of new staff members, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and service.
  • Coach and counsel existing staff to achieve whole-team success and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to exceed cost centre budgets and targets through effective planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Maintain our high standards for consistency in recipe and menu item execution, ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.
  • Close involvement in inventory management, ordering food and supplies, and maintaining a safe and organized kitchen environment.
  • Ensure a safe and harassment-free environment for all Team Members and Managers, upholding our company's values and policies.
Critical Skills & Certifications
  • Minimum 3 years' kitchen work experience in high-volume environments, with management or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire cooperation and teamwork.
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, culinary skills, and commercial food preparation equipment.
  • Ability to manage inventory, allocate responsibilities, and prioritize efficiently, with attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Compliant and up-to-date on all necessary certifications, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
