About the Role:

A Wahlburgers Assistant Kitchen Manager is a seasoned professional dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences and fostering a winning culture in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution of menu items and maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and development of new staff members, focusing on building a strong team culture and promoting whole-team success.
  • Coach and counsel existing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their full potential and contribute to the team's success.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to exceed cost centre budgets and targets through effective planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Maintain our high standards for consistency in recipe and menu item execution, ensuring that every guest has an exceptional dining experience.
  • Close involvement in inventory management, overseeing the ordering of food and supplies to ensure efficient operations and minimize waste.
  • Help maintain a professional restaurant and team member image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Uphold restaurant safety, sanitation, and security standards at all times, including handling chemicals safely.
  • Ensure building, equipment, furniture, and fixtures are in good repair, clean, and maintained on a regular basis.
  • Ensure a safe and harassment-free environment for all Team Members and Managers.
  • Understand, comply with, and ensure team members are accountable for all company policies, procedures, and operating standards, as well as all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Critical Skills & Certifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' kitchen work experience in high-volume environments, with management or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire cooperation and teamwork through self-confidence, attitude, and enthusiasm.
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations and meticulous culinary skills.
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance of commercial food preparation equipment.
  • Ability to manage inventory and allocate responsibilities and resources.
  • Organized and systematic approach to work and the ability to prioritize efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Compliant and up-to-date on all necessary certifications.
