About the Role

The Immunopathology & Infectious Immunoassay Department at Canberra Health Services (CHS) is seeking a skilled Senior Scientist, specialised in Immunopathology to join our progressive Allied Health team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operation of the Autoimmune subsection, performing complex testing including Indirect Immunofluorescence interpretation, result interpretation and verification, instrument troubleshooting, monitoring of quality control and supervision of staff.

A wide range of methodologies including indirect immunofluorescence, ELISA, electrophoresis, immunofixation and isoelectric focussing are utilised.

The position requires strong leadership skills to lead and train team members within Immunopathology.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and operate the Autoimmune subsection.
  2. Perform complex testing including Indirect Immunofluorescence interpretation.
  3. Monitor quality control and supervise staff.
Requirements:
  • At least two years' experience interpreting a range of Indirect Immunofluorescence assays.
  • Experience performing, interpreting and troubleshooting Immunoassays using methods such as indirect immunofluorescence, ELISA, Chemiluminescence and Immunoblot.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and train team members within Immunopathology.
