Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ethics and Compliance Strategist to join our team at Roche, based in our head office in Barangaroo.

This is a challenging opportunity for someone who has a strong background in legal practice, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, and is passionate about building an ethical culture within an organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically identifying and advising on legal, compliance, and ethical risks and evolving requirements, laws, and standards, particularly with respect to healthcare and corporate regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner to manage legal and healthcare compliance issues, provide insights, and tangible solutions and maintain the compliance and risk framework.
  • Provide high-quality, strategic, effective, and efficient legal advice and support.
  • Act as a key liaison and influencer developing and managing key relationships across political, regulatory, and industry bodies.
  • Support continuous improvement of internal practices, policies, and procedures consistent with the wider legal and healthcare compliance environment.
  • Advise on emerging legal and healthcare compliance matters, practices, issues, and trends relevant to the legal and healthcare compliance environment.

About You

You are degree qualified in law and hold a current legal practicing certificate for New South Wales or have the eligibility to immediately apply for such certification.

You have extensive post-admission legal practice experience, supporting companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a highly regulated industry.

You have significant knowledge of the Laws affecting the pharmaceutical industry including the Therapeutic Goods Act, the Competition and Consumer Act, WH&S Laws, and the Privacy Act.

You have strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, and can effectively drive discussions and decisions toward desired outcomes.

The estimated salary for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
