About This Role

This role is responsible for supporting the long-term goal of achieving measurable improvements in corporate governance practices.

As a Manager within the Engagement team, you will play a central role in producing research and engaging with executives and directors of Australia's largest listed companies.

  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to achieve measurable improvements in corporate governance practices.
  • Lead company engagements with S&P/ASX300 entities and deliver proxy voting research on Australian equities.
  • Manage the preparation of research on individual S&P/ASX300 entities, including engagement alerts.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on voting issues and engagement via an engagement platform as well as periodic reports.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and thematic research projects aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, investment managers, and other market participants.
  • Assist in preparing policy submissions and white papers.
  • Support other areas of activities including communications, strategy, and ad hoc requests from stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Key qualifications include:

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, finance, or another related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in a related field.
  • Ability to identify corporate governance issues and match sustainability issues to financial risks and opportunities relevant to long-term investors.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to produce reports in a user-friendly style.
  • Excellent priority management skills, including the ability to multi-task and take responsibility for tasks/projects.
