**Salary**: $83,582 - $100,342 per annum, inclusive of annual leave loading and superannuation.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Empowerment Specialist to join our team in Southern Melbourne. In this role, you will work closely with participants, their families, and support teams to develop personalized plans that promote independence, social participation, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments using evidence-based tools to identify strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Liaise with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate support and services that cater to individual requirements.
  • Support participants in their everyday environments, including home, work, school, or community settings.
  • Collaborate with support teams to build capacity and create capable environments that promote participant autonomy.
  • Attend regular team meetings, peer group supervision, and professional learning opportunities to enhance expertise and skills.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability (or equivalent) and eligibility to become a member of DEAI (required upon commencement).
  • Possibility of submitting a suitability assessment and obtaining a Behaviour Support Practitioner designation from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Passion for removing barriers using the social model of therapy.
  • Strong advocacy skills and ability to show empathy and understanding while being open and non-judgmental.
  • Drive to achieve high-impact outcomes in people's lives.
  • Ability to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check.
  • Holding a valid driver's license.
