Economic Analyst | Canberra | Labour Hire Contract

Our team is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with a disability by driving positive change and addressing economic challenges in the care economy.

About the Role

You will be part of a small team delivering economic research and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making on complex economic and pricing policy. Your role will involve theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of the NDIS supports markets and making a major impact on resource allocation.

  • Deliver economic research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making
  • Apply statistical and economic modelling techniques to identify trends and patterns
  • Address information asymmetries and market failures to improve outcomes for people living with a disability
  • Work effectively across teams and departments to achieve organisational goals
  • Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations to drive positive change
  • Make major impacts on the allocation of Scheme resources to support evidence-based decision-making

Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to understanding complex economic issues and working toward practical solutions. Structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems, and development of analytical frameworks. A quantitative mindset with emerging technical skills to handle and analyse data. Ability to simplify technical information into succinct narratives and plain English advice suitable for non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in economics and econometrics, or similar. Proficiency with a major statistical software package (R, Python, Stata, SAS).
