Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Fellow – Critical Metals

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Fellow to join our team at Swinburne University in a critical metals research role. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with researchers from Swinburne and CSIRO, as well as industry partners, to develop innovative solutions for the processing and recycling of critical metals.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct independent research projects within a broader team environment, identifying complementary expertise and initiating appropriate collaborations.
- Analyse the state of areas of technology from publications and patents, and apply this knowledge to develop new solutions.
- Collaborate with researchers from Swinburne and CSIRO to develop and implement new methods for the processing and recycling of critical metals.
- Contribute to the development of new technologies and processes for the extraction and recycling of critical metals.
- Doctoral qualification (or research experience) in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related areas.
- Thorough knowledge of thermodynamic/kinetics modelling and hands-on experience with thermodynamic/thermochemical packages.
- Hands-on experience in high temperature experimentations (kinetics and equilibrium).
- Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
