Character Animation Specialist

DNEG Animation is seeking a skilled Character Animation Specialist to join their team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating high-quality character animation rigs for film and television productions.

As a key member of the animation team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex character rigs, working closely with modellers, rigging supervisors, and animation leads to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient production workflows.

The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Maya, Python scripting, and character specializations, including body anatomy, facial expressions, and object-oriented scripting.

Experience with pipeline tools, such as Houdini or Unreal Engine, and familiarity with cloth simulation would be highly beneficial.

Strong visual and artistic skills are essential, along with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. A proactive and adaptable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment is required.

Working rights in Australia are essential due to hiring constraints and immediate needs. Preference will be given to applicants holding full working rights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality character animation rigs
