We offer a unique opportunity to join our team as a Marine Training and Compliance Manager. This is an exciting role that will see you working closely with our Marine Operations Manager to ensure our business and employees are suitably skilled to meet regulatory requirements.

An Essential Role

This position has been developed to support ongoing marine compliance and upskill employees across the Kangaroo Island Ferry Service. You will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating training needs, ensuring terminal infrastructure and service equipment are managed accordingly.

About the Job

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years' experience as a leader with extensive knowledge of marine legislation and advanced knowledge of marine compliance. A MED2 certificate of competency and tertiary qualifications in Training and Assessment and Leadership would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills to meet regulatory requirements
  • Manage terminal infrastructure and service equipment to ensure operational excellence and compliance
  • Collaborate with the Marine Operations Manager to drive employee engagement and growth mindset
  • Lead and direct employees to ensure safety compliance is not compromised and compliance is met

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment – Essential (or commit to completing)
  • Proven leadership and project management skills
  • Marine compliance knowledge would be advantageous
  • Exceptional time management and ability to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Intermediate computer literacy and Microsoft Office skills
