Marine Compliance and Operations Strategist

At SeaLink South Australia, we are seeking a highly skilled Marine Training and Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our marine operations department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our ferry services.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to transition into a new challenge and prepare for the upcoming ferry arrivals in early 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine compliance and training, with a proven track record of implementing effective procedures and protocols.
The successful applicant will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating training needs, ensuring terminal infrastructure and service equipment are managed accordingly, and providing leadership and guidance to employees. A Marine background is advantageous, but experience in a Learning and Development role where you have developed competencies and identified training gaps is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Manage and maintain terminal infrastructure and service equipment to ensure they are in good working order and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to employees, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Collaborate with the Marine Operations Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
We are looking for a confident and experienced leader with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. You will need to have a strong understanding of marine legislation and advanced knowledge of marine compliance. A MED2 certificate of competency and tertiary qualifications in Training and Assessment and Leadership would be highly desirable.
You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels. If you are self-motivated, results-driven, organised, and have a continuous improvement mindset, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
