Geologist - Project (Underground) Specialist

This is a key position within our underground geology team, responsible for designing and executing grade control diamond drilling activities, supervising geological data collection, and providing technical information to mine planning teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design and coordinate underground grade control diamond drilling activities to align with long-term mine plans and schedules.
- Maintain and update underground grade control systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct diamond drill core logging and contribute to the improvement of core data systems to support geological modeling.
- Supervise underground diamond drilling contractors to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Monitor and validate underground sample quality control to ensure compliance with Evolution Mining standards.
- Collaborate with core yard personnel to ensure timely processing of underground diamond drill core.
- Assist in the generation, development, and maintenance of grade control databases and block models in conjunction with the resource geologist.
- Mentor and train junior geologists to ensure the delivery of high-quality work by the geology team.
- Contribute to medium to long-term improvement projects assigned by the Senior Mine Geologist.
- Liaise with assay contractors to communicate requirements and manage issues with sample quality.
We are seeking an experienced geologist with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong understanding of underground geology, and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary degree in geology or geoscience, membership in a professional society, and previous experience in underground mine geology, including supervising diamond drilling contractors.
