The Gas Forecasting Lead is responsible for leading a team of analysts in providing timely and accurate forecasts to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach the gas forecasting team members">
  • Develop and manage day-to-day operational activities for both long-term and short-term demand forecasts">
  • E nsure adherence with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements">
  • Liaise heavily with counterparties within Trading & Supply, Finance, Market Risk, and Retail Energy teams">
  • Lead the development and maintenance of long-term and short-term demand forecasts in the Gas Energy Market and associated Environmental product markets">
  • Ow n internal and external reporting and submissions processes">

Requirements:

">

To be successful, the candidate must possess a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent. Industry experience or knowledge of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Gas Market is also desirable. The candidate should have demonstrated thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight timeframes, and good communications skills both written and oral.
