Forecasting and Analytical Specialist

Develop short to medium term electricity and gas demand forecasts, leveraging high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to effectively manage trading positions and support commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive gross margin through accurate and timely demand forecasts, ensuring informed decision-making and optimal resource allocation.
  • Provide high-quality analysis of customer demand, enabling the effective management of AGL's hedge position and facilitating strategic business growth.
  • Promote real-time load forecasting accuracy to facilitate seamless gas nominations and power station dispatch operations.
  • Mentor junior team members, supporting skills development and creating a strong bench strength within the Forecasting and Pricing teams.
  • Cultivate close collaboration with the Pricing Manager to achieve cross-functional objectives and drive business results.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline or energy-related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, programming experience, and proficiency in IT systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex data insights to diverse stakeholders.
