Senior M&A Underwriter Job Description

The Senior M&A Underwriter is a critical position within our Transaction Liability team, responsible for underwriting representation and warranty insurance policies in connection with mergers and acquisitions transactions.

This individual will possess a strong commercial approach to risk assessment, sharp decision-making skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with lawyers, bankers, and brokers.

In this role, we are seeking an innovative and motivated M&A professional with specialist knowledge in successfully quoting, project-managing, and underwriting representation and warranty insurance policies.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business sectors, deal structures, jurisdictions, and indemnification obligations, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quote, project manage, and underwrite representation and warranty insurance policies in connection with mergers and acquisitions transactions.
  • Structure and negotiate bespoke insurance policies with lawyers and brokers domestically and abroad.
  • Win new business and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders involved in the M&A process.
  • Effectively assess and price risks considering factors such as business sector, deal structure, jurisdiction, and indemnification obligations in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
