About this opportunity:

This is a highly rewarding role for a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to work on the Marine Intake works for the D&C Belmont Desal Project in Newcastle, NSW.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.

You will also be required to undertake cost controlling, budgeting, forecasting, subcontract claim review, commercial negotiation activities, monitor construction progress for adherence to programme, and report to the Area Manager.

  • Direct exposure to interfacing with clients and working on a project through the lifecycle of planning, establishment delivery, commissioning, and handover.
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
  • Establish and maintain an effective quality system to ensure that all records, test results, and inspections required under the contract are obtained.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities
  2. Undertake cost controlling and budgeting
  3. Monitor construction progress
  4. Provide technical support to Supervisors and sub-contractors
  5. Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
  6. Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Project Engineer and operational experience
  • Previous experience working on infrastructure projects $100m+
  • Experience in FRP construction including Temporary Works
  • Previous experience in Water Infrastructure & Marine construction
  • Project delivery and tender experience
  • Ability to work well with various stakeholders and build strong relationships
