Strategic Financial and Operational Expert

Join a rapidly expanding business as a part-time CFO/COO to enhance our financial strategy, support day-to-day operations, and mentor our emerging leadership team during growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Refinement of board and investor reporting (monthly frequency)
  • Liaising with the bookkeeper for accurate financial records
  • Responsibility for pricing and margin analysis
Operational Oversight
  • Identification of operational gaps and suggestions for improvement
  • Development of organizational structure and clarification of team roles as the company grows
  • Creation of simple systems and dashboards for reporting and accountability
Team Support & Strategic Input
  • Providing a steady presence and sounding board for the leadership team
  • Mentoring the up-and-coming operations lead (currently the store manager)
  • Keeping the big picture in mind without becoming overwhelmed by details
  • Assistance in planning capital and resource allocation to fuel growth
Requirements
  • A seasoned professional or ex-consultant with experience working with startups or scale-ups (preferably 5+ years)Strategic, calm, and pragmatic – especially in chaotic situations
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys mentoring and building capability
  • Comfortable working independently, asynchronously, and with minimal supervision
Work Arrangement
  • Around 1–2 days/week (or 15–20 hours/month)
  • Primarily remote, but local candidates are welcome to join the office if desired
  • Hourly compensation plus a small equity component (vesting or milestone-based)
