Construction Estimation Specialist

As a Cadet Estimator, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in cost estimation and tendering within a dynamic construction environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about pursuing a career in construction and are eager to learn and take on new challenges.

You will assist with cost estimates for various projects, call subcontractors to request interest in pricing trade works, obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and prepare tender packages.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to the full tendering process across commercial construction projects and be supported by an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with cost estimates for small, medium, and large projects
  • Calling subcontractors to request interest in pricing trade works
  • Obtaining quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Preparing and issuing tender packages
  • Taking and issuing minutes during Bid Team and Tender Strategy meetings
  • Managing Tender RFIs and responding to queries
  • Formatting, printing and binding high-quality submissions
  • Establishing and maintaining Bid Action Plans
  • Updating and managing Bid & Strategy documentation
  • Preparing and measuring a bill of quantities (BOQ)
  • Attending site inspections to establish site conditions

Requirements:

  • A current student or recent graduate of a construction-related degree or 12 months' experience in the construction industry
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Estimating
  • Focused, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Open to learning and comfortable taking on new challenges
