Senior Estimator Role

This is a key leadership position that requires a senior estimator to oversee the preparation of detailed and competitive tenders for commercial construction projects.

About the Job:
  • Lead the estimating process from start to finish, managing the development of tender documents for large-scale commercial projects.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and scope to create accurate bill of quantities (BOQs) and cost plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing.
  • Perform risk and value engineering assessments to enhance the viability of projects and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, consultants, and clients to deliver high-quality estimates on time.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and industry developments to inform estimate preparation and contribute to business growth.
Key Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial construction processes, including estimating software (e.g. CostX, Buildsoft).
  • Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or related field.
