As a senior geotechnical professional, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both open pit and underground operations. You will ensure the integrity of pit slopes, waste rock dumps, tailings, and water storage facilities.

About the Role:

You will collaborate with technical and operational teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that maximise resource recovery and support long-term planning. As a senior member of the Technical Services team, you will lead inspections, contribute to ground control strategies, and manage geotechnical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Contribute to ground control strategies and develop effective solutions
  • Manage geotechnical projects from concept to completion
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to achieve project goals
  • Develop and implement cost-effective solutions that maximise resource recovery

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining, Geoscience, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on Geomechanics
  • Minimum 7 years' geotechnical experience
  • Proven supervisory experience in operations, technical services, or project management
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, geotechnical controls, and open pit operations
  • Solid knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced user of geotechnical modelling and CAD software
