Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Lead to join our Housing Shelter team at Our Place Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and support to staff and residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to staff and residents, promoting a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of staff and residents, responding to medical emergencies and maintaining a safe and calm environment.
  • Assist with resident support plan development and delivery of services, collaborating with the Site Supervisor and support team.
  • Perform wellness checks and assist residents with activities such as room cleans and laundry.
  • Maintain an active file for each assigned resident and liaise with partner agencies and other professionals/support teams.
  • Oversee the daily functioning of the shelter/housing site, maintaining safety for all residents and staff.
  • Collaborate with the team on how to engage residents, utilizing a team approach as needed.
Requirements
  • Diploma in a related human, social services field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years recent related experience.
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in an intense and challenging work environment.
  • Effective personal boundary setting skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week), Thursday to Saturday (7pm to 7am). The hourly rate is $30.75 to $35.29, plus additional compensation for working overnight, on Saturdays and Sundays, and during peak hours.
