At Nomad Atomics, we are revolutionizing the field of quantum sensing by creating advanced sensors that see the world in a new light.

We are seeking an exceptional mechanical engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing and developing critical mechanical systems for our deployed quantum sensors.

  • This is a hands-on position requiring a broad skill set, including component design, manufacturing, and testing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and experience designing precision mechanical systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics engineering or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience designing and prototyping precision mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Experience designing for various manufacturing techniques including CNC machined parts.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working in small cross-functional teams.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to be hands-on for manufacturing & assembling of jigs, prototypes & products.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
