You'll work closely with our co-founders and development team to design and develop critical mechanical systems for our deployed quantum sensors.

  • Designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our quantum sensor products
  • Conducting thorough testing and analysis to ensure mechanical components meet performance and reliability standards
  • Utilizing 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed design drawings and specifications
  • Collaborating with physicists, electronic, and software engineers to integrate mechanical components into overall system designs

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design reviews and idea generation within the mechanical engineering team
  • Maintain parts and assemblies within product lifecycle management systems
  • Develop relationships with external suppliers to drive innovation in our products
  • Work with the manufacturing team to ensure designs can be produced at scale
  • Ensure a safe and organized lab/machine shop environment
  • Assist with maintaining deployed sensors
Requirements

We're looking for candidates with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and experience designing precision mechanical systems.

A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics engineering, or a related field is ideal.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software and experience designing for various manufacturing techniques, including CNC machined parts, is essential.

Experience with finite element analysis and simulation tools, as well as designing flexure components and optomechanical systems, is highly desirable.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, analytical problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively are also required.

The successful candidate must have current full working rights in Australia.
